The completion of the apron lighting at Los Angeles International Airport, USA has been announced by Helix Electric Inc, a US merit-shop electrical contractor.
Helix Electric was selected by Los Angeles World Airports to upgrade apron lighting at Terminals 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport.
According to Helix Electric, it replaced outside lighting fixtures, including pole and wall-mounted wall fixtures, contractors, ballasts and photocells for automatic controls.
The company said the upgrade meets current Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recommendations for apron lighting and alley taxiways. It confirmed the work was completed successfully on 7 July 2007, on time and on budget, and claimed its team integrated the lighting power and control systems, adding value to the scope of the work.
