Trans States Airlines, an independent American regional airline for American Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways, has enhanced its contract with MedAire Inc (ASX: MDE).

Under the terms of the contract, MedAire will provide Train-the-Trainer medical instruction and Trans State will become the first United States part 121 carrier to integrate MedAire's web-based medical training programme into its current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved crew training.

Trans States said that, after successful completion of the June 2007 Train-the-Trainer course, the carrier's instructors will be qualified to teach crew members using MedAire's Manual of Inflight Medical Care, as well as the First Aid for Inflight Medial Emergencies Instructor Guide.
