April traffic for SkyWest Airlines and ASA announced by SkyWest Inc

SkyWest Inc (Nasdaq: SKYW) has announced traffic figures for the month of April for Skywest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA).

The company reported a 15.5% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for April, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased by 13.9% compared to the same period last year.

The combined airlines generated 1.47bn RPMs for the month, with ASMs rising to 1.87bn. The load factor for April 2007 increased by 1.0 percentage points to 78.6%, as compared to 77.6% for the same month last year.

Passenger boardings for April totalled 2,828,277 a 9.8% increase over April 2006, the company said.
