NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways Corp. plans to deepen its expansion into New York City's northern suburbs by offering flights from Westchester County Airport, county officials said.

"They told us they are coming," Deputy Transportation Commissioner Harry Stanton told The Journal News. "They haven't told us where they're going to fly to, but we expect to hear more about that on Monday."

The flights would begin in March, county officials said. Airport manager Peter Scherer said the airline is considering routines to Orlando, West Palm Beach and Chicago.

The move would follow JetBlue's recent decision to begin daily nonstop flights to Florida from Stewart International Airport, in Newburgh, which lies about 55 miles north of New York City.

A competitor, AirTran Airways, also has launched service to Georgia and Florida from Newburgh, and has been flying to similar destinations from Westchester County since April.
