Two pilots of a flight operated by Qantas Airways reportedly refused to take off their shoes at Manila airport in the Philippines on Tuesday (12 September) during an anti-terrorism security check.
The flight to Australia was delayed by 22 minutes as a result of the incident.
According to Chief Superintendent Andres Caro, head of the police Aviation Security Group, the pilots eventually agreed to the check at the insistence of security officers.
A statement from Qantas revealed that the aircraft's chief pilot had been disallowed from flying while an investigation is under way, The Associated Press reported.
