Delta will offer French, Italian, German and Portuguese versions of its Web site later this year.

Delta Air Lines has launched a Spanish version of its Web site, the company said Wednesday.

Delta's U.S. customers can choose Spanish from a drop-down menu at http://www.delta.com to browse, book flights and pick seats.

By mid-October, customers in Latin America will be able to make the same transactions in Spanish, Delta spokesman Anthony Black said Wednesday.

Delta will offer French, Italian, German and Portuguese versions of its Web site later this year, he said.

Delta said it was expanding its global reach, offering more than 495 weekly flights to 47 Latin American and Caribbean destinations from Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, New York and Salt Lake City.

It expanded service from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles to destinations in Mexico, including Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan.

Delta expects to emerge from bankruptcy in 2007.

On Tuesday, a bankruptcy judge approved an agreement with a group of retired pilots that paves the way for the airline to pay $9 million (euro7 million) in pension obligations.
