A former baggage handler at Will Rogers World Airport is facing up to five years in prison for scrawling a false bomb threat inside a plane in February.
Michael T. Hughes pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court in Oklahoma City to making a false terrorist threat.
The Midwest City resident admitted he wrote "This plane will explode on Feb. 27" inside the baggage compartment of a regional American Airlines jet, then pointed out the message to a supervisor.
Hughes told an FBI agent he wanted to see how much interest the note would draw, prosecutors said.
He will be sentenced in a few months.
