NWA and Delta Cut More Flights Than Other Airlines

Data from Back Aviation Solutions, an industry research company, has reportedly shown that Northwest Airlines has cut more flights in the past year than any other major carrier.

The comparison, which was made on a percentage basis, was based on flight-schedule data, according to a report by USA Today.

Between July 2005 and July 2006 Northwest reduced its flight operations from 2,911 flights per day to 2,481, showing a 14.8% decline. In addition Delta Air Lines went from 4,854 flights to 4,198 flights, showing a 13.5% decline.

The newspaper noted that the two airlines have cut a total of over 1,000 daily flights.
