An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing Monday at Dublin International Airport after the pilot reported smelling smoke, officials said.

The Dublin Airport Authority said all 135 passengers were safely evacuated after the Boeing 777-200 landed about 10 a.m. (0900GMT). It said fire officials inspected the plane and found a suspected fault in one of the compact ovens used for heating meals.

The aircraft, which departed Monday morning from London's Heathrow Airport, was expected within a few hours to resume its journey to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York.
