WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Passengers were evacuated from Poland's biggest airport Wednesday after a suspicious bag was found in the main terminal, an airport spokesman said.

Airport security at Warsaw's Frederic Chopin International Airport said people were evacuated from Terminal 1 around 11 a.m. (0900 GMT) after they reported finding an unattended bag.

Airport spokesman Krzysztof Szymanski said it wasn't known if the bag contained any explosives or was just unclaimed, but decided to evacuate the terminal to be safe.

Several flights were delayed and it was not immediately known how long the main terminal would be closed.

More than 80 flights a day land and takeoff from the airport, with destinations to Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
