D/FW AIRPORT -- A 43-year-old Guatemalan man was arrested Thursday at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport with almost four pounds of heroin on and inside his body, according to a news release Friday.

The heroin was found after the man was asked to remove his coat after he arrived on a flight from Guatemala City, according to Customs and Border Control.

He became agitated when officers noticed bulges in his clothing. They found about 80 pellets of heroin in a girdle, according to the news release.

X-rays showed that he had ingested about 20 pellets, which passed from his body at a hospital.

The man, who faces drug smuggling charges, was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the news release stated.
