IMPERIAL, Pa. (AP) -- Federal security officials have installed chains at the security checkpoints at Pittsburgh International Airport to prevent problems like one that shut down the checkpoints last week.

A woman headed for a Continental Airlines flight to Houston slipped between a metal detector and an X-ray machine where her carryon bags were being checked.

Authorities interviewed the woman and believe she accidentally walked through the gap between the two machines. The chains will stretch between the machines so that can't happen.

U.S. Transportation Security Administration officials shut down the checkpoints for a short time after the June 29 incident, causing longer-than-usual delays for passengers.
