ObjectVideo, the leader in intelligent video, announced today that it has been selected by Memphis/Shelby County Airport as a critical component of an Aviation Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (APIDS) to enhance perimeter security and protect against various types of threats to the airport and arriving and departing aircraft.
ObjectVideo VEW is featured as part of the APIDS developed by Stanley Security Solutions, Inc., a provider of access control and security solutions. The software will be integrated with closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras to proactively detect security threats along 34,000 feet of fenced perimeter, as well as to alert airport and law enforcement authorities. ObjectVideo VEW will secure the airport's runways and grounds against prohibited individuals and vehicles even during nighttime, poor weather and limited visibility conditions.

It runs all objects in a camera's view against threat-specific pre-programmed rules. When an object violates a rule, for example, when a person or vehicle enters an off-limits area or lingers near it, the software alerts security personnel by phone, pager, email or an alert console.
