French airline Air France yesterday launched its trial biometrics security scheme at Paris' Charles De Gaulle airport. Developed by French electronics group Sagem, the scheme will run for a six-month trial period, using magnetic cards and fingerprint reading technology.
The scheme, launched in partnership with the French internal affairs ministry, will allow passengers who volunteer in the trial to go through an electronic checkpoint, avoiding the cues at traditional passport control points.
