ROME (AP) -- Flight attendants at Italian state carrier Alitalia went on a four-hour strike Tuesday, prompting the airline to cancel 168 flights, Alitalia said.

Of the flights scrapped, 92 were domestic, 70 were within Europe and six were intercontinental, the company said in a statement.

Flight attendants from three labor unions stayed off the job from noon local time (1000GMT) and resumed working at 4 p.m. (1400GMT). Cabin crews have gone on strike several times in recent months over concerns that include a restructuring plan at the airline that includes 3,700 job cuts.
