Ava Sumpter-Shubat Awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal

Ava Sumpter-Shubat was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal from the United States Air Force for her outstanding, dedicated, and lasting aviation volunteer service over the last thirteen years.

Ava Sumpter-Shubat, president and board member of Women in Corporate Aviation Intl, a Fortune 500 Falcon 50EX pilot, and a Captain in the Texas Air National Guard was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal from the United States Air Force for her outstanding, dedicated, and lasting aviation volunteer service over the last thirteen years. Her volunteer service included over 910 hours to various organizations including Women in Corporate Aviation, Intl. in multiple positions, the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aviation Safety Counselor, the Houston Aviation Advisory Council as a board member, in various roles for Women in Aviation, Intl, and as an aviation speaker. Ava continues to serve in various roles as a volunteer in the aviation industry and hopes to continue to make an impact in aviation through her future positions. She has served in the United States military since 1987 in various aircraft maintenance positions and presently is the Executive Officer to the Commander of the Texas Air National Guard.
