Pepco Energy Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings, Inc. and a company focused on energy savings performance contracting, said it designed and built a 10 kW demonstration solar power project at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's (MWAA) Dulles Toll Road administration building in McLean, Va.
In a release on Oct. 24, Pepco Energy said the solar facility is located on the roof of the administration building and can be seen from the Dulles Toll Road.
"The MWAA is a focused, environmentally-aware partner that was looking for a way to increase efficiency and lower costs," says John Huffman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pepco Energy. "Pepco Energy was able to provide a solution that delivers on both goals by leveraging a renewable resource that also begins to move the MWAA toward environmental sustainability. We look forward to continuing to help them move in that positive direction."
Pepco Energy has installed several solar power projects for customers such as the Atlantic City Convention Center (2.4 MW system), Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (500 kW system), Maryland Port Administration (500 kW system), and the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center (125 kW system).
