Survey Names American Airlines' CEO Doug Parker as CEO of the Year

Dec. 4, 2015
Dallas-Fort Worth CEOs picked American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, according to a survey by Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. The results were announced Tuesday night in Dallas after nearly 200 Dallas-Fort Worth area CEOs and presidents voted for their peers in the annual survey.

Parker became CEO of Fort Worth-based American after its 2013 merger with US Airways, which created the world’s largest airline. He previously was CEO of Arizona-based US Airways and America West Airlines.

Parker said in a statement that he was “honored” to accept the award on behalf of American’s 100,000 employees.
