The agreement was signed by both companies at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2010 in Berlin-Schoenefeld.

Aerodata AG and Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services GmbH (LBAS) have announced they will be collaborating in the field of aircraft retrofits and modifications. The agreement was signed by both companies at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2010 in Berlin-Schoenefeld.

Aerodata AG, as a world-renowned design and modification centre for a variety of special mission aircraft types, and LBAS, as the joint-venture maintenance location for Bombardier business aircraft in Europe, intend to combine forces to handle similar modification projects, as well as selected bigger maintenance projects, in the future. It is also planned to combine the capabilities of Aerodata AG, as a certified Part 21 Design Organization, and LBAS, as a certified Part 145 Maintenance Organization, to respond even more effectively to international calls for tender.

"This cooperation is the logical next step after several successful joint modification projects in the past, including the conversion of two green Bombardier* Global Express* aircraft into a flight inspection configuration for a customer in Asia," says Hans J. Stahl, CEO of Aerodata. "The close proximity of our respective locations, with only about two hours of driving or half an hour flight time, enables us to communicate easily."

Andreas Kaden, Managing Director of LBAS, states: "Joining forces with Aerodata combines the strengths of our two organizations to create a very flexible service provision for any sort of avionics or structural modifications to Bombardier business aircraft, which will benefit our mutual customers." Depending on customer preference and project content, each of the two organizations can take the lead in a specific joint project.
