Michael Kaplan Becomes New General Counsel for StandardAero

TEMPE, Ariz. – January 22, 2010 – StandardAero announced today that Michael Kaplan has joined the company as General Counsel and will assume the responsibilities of Chief Security Officer upon confirmation from the Department of Homeland Security. Kaplan brings broad knowledge in the legal and finance fields as well as specific industry experience in aerospace/defense, government services and electronics manufacturing.

In his new position, he will have direct responsibility for all legal functions, including insurance and risk management, contracts, health & safety and compliance programs worldwide, as well as corporate governance.

Kaplan was most recently a Shareholder with international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP where he focused on corporate law and served as outside general counsel to public and private companies in the aerospace/defense and government services industries. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Styling Technology Corporation.

Kaplan earned his law degree from Stanford Law School and graduated with honors from the College of William & Mary.

He is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association and a Founding Board Member on the Arizona Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
