Chromalloy Names General Manager at Atlanta Area Turbine Engine Service Operation

The Chromalloy facility in Newnan, GA, provides gas turbine engine repairs, repair development, overhaul, manufacturing and coatings for a wide range of turbine engine models.

ORANGEBURG, N.Y., November 30, 2009 – Chromalloy announced today that industry veteran Tim Ulles has been named General Manager of the company’s gas turbine engine repair and maintenance operation near Atlanta.

“Tim is a seasoned business leader with many years of financial and aerospace industry experience, and he will help to further build and strengthen Chromalloy’s Newnan, Ga., operation,” said Mike Beffel, Vice President, Operations.

The Chromalloy facility in Newnan provides gas turbine engine repairs, repair development, overhaul, manufacturing and coatings for a wide range of turbine engine models. For fleet operators, the operation helps them to reduce maintenance cost through Designated Engineering Representative (DER) repair products, FAA Approved Replacement Parts, and rotable pool programs.

Ulles previously was Division Manager at Barnes Aerospace in the company’s Windsor OEM Division, in Windsor, Conn., where he had profit and loss responsibility for aircraft, military tank and power generation engines parts manufacturing. He entered Barnes Aerospace Windsor Division as Controller of that operation.

Earlier in his career Ulles was the Director of Finance/Commercial Director of MacDermid Graphic Arts, Inc., and prior to that was the Controller at General Datacomm Industries Inc. in a number of capacities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Science degree in financial management, both from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.

Ulles replaces John Riggs, former General Manager of the facility, who moved to a new leadership role in the organization’s corporate technology group.

Chromalloy is a supplier of advanced repairs and services for gas turbines used in aviation and land-based applications, repairs, and refurbishes and manufactures engine components.

The company also designs and manufactures FAA-approved replacement parts for aircraft engines that are FAA-certified to meet or exceed the performance, reliability and durability specifications of original equipment manufacturer parts.

In support of land-based vehicles, Chromalloy employs identical engineering disciplines used to produce its FAA-certified parts. Chromalloy serves commercial, military and industrial turbine engine operators worldwide and has operations in the U.S., Mexico, the U.K., Netherlands, Italy, Germany, France, the U.A.E., Israel, China, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Australia.
