SAVANNAH, Ga., November 30, 2009 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has appointed Greg Laabs vice president and general manager of its Appleton, Wis., facility. Laabs had served as the site’s interim general manager since April 2009.
The Appleton facility comprises a completions center for large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft, a Gulfstream Product Support center and a General Dynamics Aviation Services product support center.
Before Laabs joined Gulfstream in April 2007 as the director of service in Appleton, he was the general manager of maintenance for Mayo Aviation in Englewood, Colo. In that position, he managed maintenance for eight aircraft operators and oversaw the maintenance sales, inspection, parts and line departments.
Before joining Mayo Aviation, Laabs worked eight years at West Star Aviation in Grand Junction, Colo., rising from director of maintenance to vice president of operations.
Laabs earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Doane College in Lincoln, Neb., and an associate’s degree in aircraft maintenance from Iowa Western Community College. He holds an airframe and power plant (A&P) license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Laabs reports to Dennis Stuligross, senior vice president, operations, and Mark Burns, president, product support and General Dynamics Aviation Services.
