FlightSafety Awards 1000th Master Technician Certificate to Steve King, Cox Enterprises
LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (October 20, 2009) – FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Steve King of Cox Enterprises is the 1,000th person to have successfully completed FlightSafety’s Master Technician training program.
“We are proud to congratulate Steve King on his significant achievement and to celebrate the awarding of FlightSafety’s 1,000th Master Technician certificate,” said Mike Lee, Director Maintenance Training Business Development.
Aircraft maintenance technicians must successfully complete five advanced aircraft type specific maintenance courses in order to receive a Master Technician Certificate.
Steve received the 1,000th certificate following his completion of the Gulfstream GV aircraft Master Technician training program. He has previously received a Master Technician Certificate for the Gulfstream GIV and is currently working towards a certificate for the Hawker 800XP.
King has been with Cox Enterprises since 1981 and currently serves as Director of Maintenance. “The Master Technician program provides a great way for today’s maintenance professional to enhance their skills and to earn recognition,” King says. “It’s a complete sequence that delivers the kind of in-depth understanding you can put in your ‘knowledge toolbox.’”
FlightSafety’s Master Technician Program was designed to help technicians to develop a higher level of skill and increase their problem-solving ability. Each Master Technician program consists of five aircraft type specific courses and typically takes four to five years to complete.
FlightSafety offers the Master Technician training program for a variety of aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Learjet, Cessna, Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Hawker Beechcraft and Sikorsky.
