Jack Macfarlane of Lemoore has been appointed as the new campus director for San Joaquin Valley College's Aviation campus in Fresno. Macfarlane, who retired from the U.S. Navy in 2006, has a master's degree in education and spent 21 years as an aircraft handler and instructor.
Macfarlane joined San Joaquin Valley College's corporate staff as a curriculum specialist almost two years ago, then moved into the role of academic dean before his recent promotion to campus director.
"This is a wonderful and exiting time to be the director of this great campus," he said. "Our instructors are top-notch, the staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and we are experiencing a strong and steady growth. Also, our facilities have recently been significantly upgraded and the future of our aviation maintenance technology program is looking very bright."
