Mayfield Heights, OH – July 22, 2009 - Brush Wellman Inc.'s Alloy Products group announced today that it has earned the aerospace industry’s Nadcap Accreditation for heat treating at its Elmore, OH, facility.
Identified by aircraft producers as a supplier whose products and services are essential to the production of aircraft, Brush took on the necessary challenge of Nadcap heat treatment accreditation. This accreditation focuses on the records demonstrating precise control of product and product uniformity as well as process compliance with specifications. “To earn accreditation,” says Bill Nielsen, Brush’s aerospace marketing director, “Nadcap examines process records and witnesses real-time conduct of processing to ascertain strict, literal compliance with the written specification.”
Nadcap accreditation is recognized worldwide and endorses Brush Wellman as a supplier who may be relied upon to deliver the top level of conformance to the standards aircraft manufacturers use in the design and production of aircraft.
In order to enhance and assure reliability, Nadcap limits the term of accreditation to one year and conducts annual reviews of compliance. This ensures an ongoing evolution in customer satisfaction. Nadcap accreditation is site-specific. As such, Brush Wellman’s accreditation is for heat treatment at the facility located at 14710 W. Portage River South Road, Elmore, OH. Brush is in the process of earning heat treatment accreditation at its facilities in Lorain, OH, and Warren, MI. Beyond heat treatment, Brush is also in the process of earning Nadcap laboratory accreditations at its two Elmore, OH, laboratories as well as the Lorain, OH, laboratory.
