A&P Students Graduate First Phase With Big Dreams

County gives boost to desert school.

VICTORVILLE, CA -- David Kenefic couldn't contain his excitement as he took another step toward a new career this week.

"We're the first class," the Apple Valley resident said about a pivotal aircraft training program at Southern California Logistics Airport's School of Aviation Technology. "This is an investment in the future of this area."

Kenefic is one of 16 students who graduated Tuesday from the first phase of a three-phase 82-week Airframe and Power Plant program that's designed to give the Victorville airport's aircraft industry a boost in available skilled workers. An additional 41 will graduate soon.
