MSCAA: Promotes Angela Washington to Director of Properties
The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has announced the promotion of Angela M. Washington, M.S.M., to director of properties.
Washington is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization’s Properties department, which manages areas such as concessions, ground transportation, public and employee parking, telephone systems and general aviation airports. Her duties also include negotiation and preparation of all tenant leases and the collection of rental fees.
Her promotion, which became effective April 30, is part of a reorganization at MEM that moves the properties department to the finance and administration division. Washington will report to Forrest Artz, vice president of finance and administration/CFO.
“Angela’s experience, energy and long record of outstanding performance make her a tremendous addition to the leadership team at MEM,” said Scott Brockman, MSCAA president and CEO. “I am confident she will lead the positive changes that I envision for this reorganization.”
Washington has worked for the airport authority for 28 years, most recently as manager of properties. Before that, she worked in the airport’s operations department, first as a division assistant and later as an executive assistant. Washington joined the MSCAA in 1988 as an accounting clerk in the finance department.
A Memphis native, Washington holds an associate’s degree in accounting from State Technical Institute at Memphis (now Southwest Community College), a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Christian Brothers University, and a Master of Science in Management degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
