STL Airport Commission Approves Permit and Rules for Ride Share Companies
The St. Louis Airport Commission took a major step to soon allow ride share or Transportation Network Companies (TNC) to operate at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). The Commission approved the rules and regulations for TNC’s as well as the fee structure for those operations. This ground transportation use agreement permit now awaits approval from the St. Louis City Board of Estimate and Apportionment (E&A). Once the permit is finalized, TNC operations could begin as early as the end of August.
The permit requires a TNC to pay a $15,000 administrative fee for a two-year term. The permit also sets a $3 fee for each pick-up and drop-off of a passenger by a TNC driver. The airport also established pick-up and drop-off locations for TNC’s. Pickup locations are the same as the passenger pickup zones at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
The permit process for TNCs began earlier this year after a new law was passed by The State of Missouri governing the operation and regulation of TNC’s throughout the state.
