C&L Aviation Group Awarded Grant, Primed for Additional Expansion
BANGOR, Maine – C&L Aviation Group is pleased to announce the award of a $2.6 million grant from the Maine Technology Institute (MTI), earmarked to expand the company’s component shop infrastructure and create additional jobs over the next 3 years.
This phase of growth will expand C&L’s component shop technical capabilities, onsite manufacturing and product development. Specifically, the funds from this grant will be allocated to expand the current facility with the purchase of necessary equipment to support the increased engineering and production efforts.
“We’re very excited about the future,” said C&L CEO Chris Kilgour. “This funding is critical in helping us ramp up quickly and provide additional services such as increased component repair capabilities, STC product development, and engineering solutions for our customers. This grant is a step in that direction and to us hiring more skilled employees.”
The award is contingent upon a 100% match which will fund the entire $5.7 million-dollar project.
The approved grant is part of the Maine Technology Asset Fund 2.0 (MTAF2.0) program, which is financed by a $45MM bond approved by Maine voters in June of 2017 and is managed by MTI on behalf of the State of Maine.
