Goldhofer, manufacturer of towbarless aircraft tractors, will present two new, redesigned towbarless pushback tractors at the 2007 InterAirport show — the AST-1 X and AST-2P. Due to their technical simplicity, both vehicles offer lower acquisition costs and a considerable reduction in running costs, without compromising the tractive force and load carrying capacity. Until recently, Goldhofer was the only manufacturer to offer the concept of six drive wheels for high-speed towing of the new aircraft types A380 and B747-8 in loaded or partially loaded conditions. Based on this concept, a cost-optimized tractor with four-wheel drive will be exhibited which represents a particularly economical solution for towing and pushing both the A380 and B747-8.
