FleetCycle® Planning Manager (FCPM) helps users plan complex maintenance activity events. FCPM also ensures compliance with maintenance and program requirements and helps manage contracts for 3rd party MRO work.
FCPM uses historical data to optimise and fine-tune your operational plans. It is used for all heavy, line and shop maintenance activities and utilises all resource data with skills and current training records along with facility capabilities.
Maintenance Event Planning
A maintenance event can be a small activity consisting of a single task or can be a very large activity lasting many days and across many shifts. These ‘Bill of Work’ (BOW) events can be manually created or customers can use the built in algorithms to automatically generate the events.
Once events are created and loaded in the system, it is simple and intuitive to view these events in the Capacity Plan, which offers facility, station or shop views.
Production Planning
Each event is compromised of tasks to be completed by the relevant skilled personnel. Tasks can be standalone or can be grouped together as required, and the FleetCycle® engine will help construct the most efficient structure for these tasks.
Electronic task cards will be generated with the relevant personnel resources and materials required. Each card will have an estimated completion time and this can be manually entered or automatically calculated from previous similar tasks. The combined time for all task cards that are included in a BOW create the expected timescales for the BOW. All costs associated with the resources and materials are also calculated to provide expected costs for the planned work.
Resource Planning
All required resources to complete any event is accessible within FCPM. This includes all personnel data, their skills and qualifications, time and attendance to capture any planned holidays or other events, all tooling required along with relevant certificates, and all materials required. Once the resource information is available, this data can be used along with the BOWs to ensure all required resources are available. FCPM provides the expected required resources for all BOWs that have been planned and displays this at company, station or workshop level.
Capacity Planning
Capacity planning deals with both short and long term plans. These plans are generated from the BOW and the related resources required for all the tasks in each BOW.
To gain the full benefit of the optimisation capabilities within FCPM, it is necessary to accurately plan for capacity and essential to input the detail. The station capabilities, manpower skills, and the available tooling must all be entered into FCPM. The solution will measure and report the actual performance compared to the expected plan. The solution also enables users to create multiple scenarios to ensure the best option is selected to satisfy business objectives.
Contract Management
FCPM manages 3rd party MRO work and our customers can generate the BOW and the work pack to be sent to the selected 3rd party MRO supplier. It is possible for the supplier to complete the work pack electronically within FleetCycle® providing the customer with a real time view of the progress through the work pack. Alternatively, the completed work pack can be easily loaded into the system by the customer when returned from the 3rd party MRO supplier. Each of these contracts, the initiation, completion, closure and payment, can be efficiently managed within FCPM.
