A high temperature vibration monitoring system, Model 5334, is available from Dytran Instruments. This unit consists of a high temperature charge mode accelerometer and an in-line miniature differential charge amplifier which operates from a constant current two-wire (IEPE) power unit. The configuration is known as a hybrid system because it combines a differential charge mode accelerometer with IEPE technology. The accelerometer and charge amplifier are permanently joined together as a single unit with the interconnecting hard line cable permanently connected. The accelerometer is connected to the input of the charge amplifier via an 18-inch long hard line cable (SIO2 insulated) which is unaffected by the high temperature at the measurement point. It features a case isolated design to avoid annoying ground loops and hermetic sealing for normal operation in moist and dirty environments. It has an industry standard 3-bolt mount, stainless steel construction, and utilizes ultra high temperature piezoelectric crystals in compression mode which allow it to operate at temperatures up to 900 F. This vibration measurement system is ideal for ultra high temperature applications including aircraft turbine measurements, industrial turbine measurements and general purpose vibration under high temperatures.
