LISA Airplanes at the Heart of Innovation at EAA AirVenture

July 9, 2015
AKOYA’s technologic achievements and multiple assets are enhanced as they are placed at the heart of the show's new features.

The month of July comes along with the key event for all aviation enthusiasts. Again this year, LISA’s team looks forward to welcoming you at the greatest light aviation show in the World: EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh!

This year, the team exhibits inside the tent dedicated to innovations, the “innovation center”. AKOYA’s technologic achievements and multiple assets are enhanced as they are placed at the heart of the show's new features. LISA’s team shows some of the research works made throughout the years and what they led to: a new seaplane generation. In fact, AKOYA is the only aircraft to be able to take-off from water thanks to the patented “Seafoils” technology.

Better known in the industry of sailing races, the hydrofoils are wing-like structure attached to the hull of a boat that raises the hull above the water in order to gain speed. Detecting the revolution brought by the hydrofoils to the nautical world, the ambitious team at LISA decided to adapt this technology to aviation. These hydrofoils, called Seafoils, allow taking-off with ease all-the-while maintaining refined lines to reach unequalled performance in flight.

AKOYA has then become the only seaplane agile in water and fast in the air.

About LISA

LISA Airplanes - a French company with international ambitions - creates, produces and distributes top of the range airplanes, products and services that are centered on Man and his mobility with the intention of creating a new aviation which suggests a change in lifestyle. From this philosophy, a first aircraft is born - AKOYA.

About AKOYA

AKOYA is a two-seater amphibious airplane with a unique design and a wealth of features. From ground, water or snow, the AKOYA takes its passengers 1,250 miles away (2,000 km) thanks to its impressive fuel efficiency of 42MPG (5.6L/100km) and can reach the speed of 135kts (250km/h). After a pleasant and quick flight, the AKOYA lands on a less than 650-feet field (200m) and fold its wings to be parked in a garage. To reach such performance with no compromises, LISA Airplanes has designed an exclusive innovation in the aviation field which allows landing on multiple surfaces. The Multi-Access technology is a unique combination of two hydrofoils, a retractable landing gear equipped with skis and folding wings. The AKOYA is designed to fulfill the LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) regulation – the new American standard that is to become an international standard such as in Europe with the CS-LSA implementation.
