Embry-Riddle to Be Exclusive Provider of Required Courses for Aircraft Appraisal Accreditation Worldwide
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has signed an agreement with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) to be the sole provider for three years of required coursework for professional aircraft appraisers to apply for worldwide accreditation.
As part of the agreement, Embry-Riddle will develop and update four courses in coordination with ASA materials, composed of 30 hours each culminating in three exams. Successful completion of these courses will provide participants with the necessary requirements to apply for professional accreditation.
Open to the public and scheduled to launch in Fall 2016 prior to the start of the National Business of Aviation Association’s (NBAA) annual convention in Orlando, Fla., the courses include curriculum required by the ASA to be accredited as an aircraft appraiser of commercial, business and general aviation aircraft including fixed-wing and rotorcraft, and other aerospace assets.
“Embry-Riddle and ASA have a long-standing relationship spanning 15 years with a shared commitment to providing the highest standard of education and training for future valuation experts in aviation,” said Lou Seno, Embry-Riddle Vice President for Corporate Relations and Government Affairs.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, Embry-Riddle is the world’s largest university specializing in aviation and aerospace. The ASA is a professional affiliation of appraisers of all disciplines, working cooperatively to elevate the standard of the profession.
“ASA is honored to be chosen by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to be its partner of choice in providing first class valuation education in aviation,” said ASA CEO Jim Hirt, MBA, CAE. “We applaud Embry-Riddle for its 90 years of excellence.”
ASA Accredited Senior Appraiser and Embry-Riddle Board of Trustee member Ken Dufour along with Embry-Riddle graduate Wade Young, ASA, will be instrumental in the development and presentation of the courses.
