Mexico, MO, May 31, 2017: “It is hard to believe it’s been twenty‐five years,” said Sebastien Heintz, President of Zenith Aircraft Company.
“So much has changed. But the love of flying, the pride of building – that gets stronger every day.”
And staying on top of the market hasn’t changed, as Zenith’s longevity and innovation have kept the company in the top echelon of kit manufacturers. “We’ve seen so many detail improvements in our designs, especially in ease of construction,” said Sebastien. “CNC hole‐matching was unheard‐of in 1993, and now, we even have finished‐size holes. It’s literally a ready‐fit kit now, requiring only assembly. There’s essentially no fabrication, no special tools required.”
These improvements at Zenith have pushed the entire industry to improve their precision, fit, and finish. “Over twenty‐five years, we’ve seen a lot of companies come and go. Established companies like Zenith continue to improve their products, and we try to stay ahead of them at every turn. In addition to great flying airplanes, we emphasize a high completion rate, builder choices, and more enjoyment.”
Sebastien Heintz, son of designer Chris Heintz, founded Zenith Aircraft Co, in 1992 to market and manufacture his father's light aircraft designs in the United States. Zenair Ltd., the company founded by Chris Heintz in Canada in 1974, continues operations in Midland, Ontario, and is run by Chris' other sons.
Current Zenith designs, STOL and cruiser, two‐ and four‐place, high‐ and low wing, are designed to be versatile in flight, well suited for first time builders and low time pilots, and to allow builders options among many powerplants. “I believe we have more different engine options than any other line of aircraft,” said Sebastien. “We offer the builder choice.”
The Heintz designs are now augmented in the States by the SAM, a WWII trainer-inspired tandem‐seat, light aerobatic or cross‐country machine that is filling a long‐neglected niche in the industry.
Dealer and direct presence around the world supports customers with unlimited technical support, hands‐on workshops, and that solid feeling a builder gets when he sees a professional answer to a question.
With events to celebrate the 25th anniversary and monthly hands‐on workshops at the factory, plus the annual Open Hangar Days and Fly‐In on September 22 and 23, Zenith Aircraft Company’s customer-oriented calendar is a busy one, always updated on the Zenith website or Facebook page.
Zenith Aircraft Company will be exhibiting at Oshkosh in July, and extends a welcome to all to attend the homecoming Open Hangar Days and Fly‐In, September 22 and 23, at the modern kit factory in Mexico, Missouri.
