Stephen Henwood CBE Strengthens Aerogility Board for 2020 Growth
Aerogility, global predictive maintenance software provider to the aviation industry, is strengthening its board with the return of industry heavyweight Stephen Henwood CBE.
Stephen rejoins Aerogility after six years as Chair of the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI). He was the founding Chair of the Institute - a partnership between the public and private sectors to develop civil aviation technology for the benefit of the UK economy. The ATI is now responsible for a £2bn portfolio of projects with commitments to reach £4bn by 2026.
He first served as an Aerogility board director from 2010 until taking up his post at the ATI in 2014. Previously, he was a senior executive with aerospace companies including BAE Systems, where he held roles including Group Managing Director of International Partnerships and Group Director of Financial Control and Accounting
Between 2008 and 2017, Henwood also served as chair of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, the body responsible for safely and securely cleaning up early UK civil nuclear facilities. He was appointed CBE for services to the nuclear industry and charity in 2012.
Aerogility’s CEO Gary Vickers says: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Stephen’s wide-ranging experience back to the company. His deep understanding of the aviation industry and the practical application of leading-edge technologies to aircraft operations will be invaluable as we grow.”
Stephen comments: “Since I last sat on the Aerogility Board, the company has advanced at an impressive rate.
“As well as building a strong reputation in the defense sector, where fleet readiness and through-life cost control are critical, the company has also made impressive inroads into the civil aviation market. Major carriers such as easyJet and Scandinavian Airlines have embraced the innovations that Aerogility brings to predictive maintenance and planning.
“The capability to forecast fleet management and optimize maintenance workloads is something that all airlines aspire to. We are on an exciting innovation journey with our customers and I am very excited about the impact that we can make on the aviation industry ."
