PPG Temporary and Protective Aerospace Coatings

Environmentally friendly products such as Z6160 and Z6148 peelable temporary protective coatings help aircraft preservation while at the same time are easy to remove when the aircraft is ready to get back in service.

With many airplanes grounded during this pandemic, PPG is helping customers protect their fleets with our temporary and protective aerospace coatings. Environmentally friendly products such as Z6160 and Z6148 peelable temporary protective coatings help aircraft preservation while at the same time are easy to remove when the aircraft is ready to get back in service. These coatings are waterborne and have very low VOC, which means they do not require paint hangar environments for application. The peelable paint is applied on top of the fuselage livery or directly on the inlet lip skin surface. Once applied, the waterproof, light and heat reflective coating will protect the aircraft up to 12 months of indoor and outdoor storage. When it is time for the aircraft to fly again, the coating can be peeled away, leaving the underlying paint and surfaces undamaged by time.
