The ACSF SMS Tool will, among other things, allow flight departments to document aviation safety data, perform risk assessments, assign corrective actions and export ASAP reports to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Additionally, the framework is structured to work with other departments an aviation organization, such as a fixed-based operator (FBO) or maintenance, repair and overhaul operation (MRO).
“An SMS program is fundamental to aviation safety, and we will soon be required for all charter flight departments, large or small,” explained ACSF’s president, Bryan Burns. “That’s why we’re excited to offer an alternative — especially for those smaller operators who’ve yet to adopt SMS. Plus, we find it very helpful — as a third-party manager of ASAP program — to have the seamless, one-stop-shop solution in-house.”
