Interchangeable head torque wrenches

May 17, 2011

Stanley Proto has rolled out nine new Interchangeable Head torque wrenches and 125 head attachments. The Interchangeable Head wrenches consist of three electronic, two micrometer, and four preset versions. They come in 1/4-, 3/8-, and 1/2-inch drives, with torque values from 25 inch-pounds to 250 foot-pounds. The attachments include ratcheting, open-end, and box heads, in metric and inch sizes. An easy to understand part-numbering system matches the correct torque wrench to the attachment. The wrenches allow users to remove the ratchet head and replace it with an open end or box head, whose narrower profile can fit into tighter spaces. The Proto wrenches also keep workers productive by letting them change heads without having to re-calculate torque values. That’s because the box and open-end attachments have the same center-to-center distance as the ratchet heads that fit on the same wrench. Each attachment is also marked with a recommended maximum torque value, to prevent over-torquing of fasteners. For more information visit www.stanleyproto.com or call (800) 800-TOOL.
