Daniels Manufacturing Corp. (DMC) has developed the GMT1090 hand crimp tool for TE Connectivity’s new Cold Applied Environmental Splices (M81824/12-xx). It crimps Cold Applied Splices sizes 26-20, 20-16, and 16-12 AWG, which provide both wire termination and environmental sealing in a single step. No heat required so there’s no need to de-fuel aircraft. It is gaged with the G1122 three-step GO/NO GO gage. The GMT1090 is equivalent to TE Connectivity’s AD-1381 crimp tool. The GMT1090 is currently undergoing qualification to M22520/44-01 for military use. This precise tool is ratchet controlled to ensure full crimp force is applied; the handles will not open until they have been fully closed and the crimp completed. The jaws include a min/max wire strip gage to help ensure proper strip lengths. The tool is equipped with a locator which is configured to hold the splice in the correct location while either wire is being terminated. The rugged construction of this tool assures repeatability and durability. It is 8 3/4 inches long and weighs .75 pound. It is sold individually or can be included in DMC’s wiring system tool kits. All DMC tools are made in the USA. For more information visit www.DMCTools.com or call (407) 855-6161.
