In addition, the company forms the main frames for its staircases with tubular steel for optimal stability and capacities of 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms) or more, as required. Grip Strut™ steps and platforms provide maximum slip protection for additional safety. The stairs also are equipped with towbar-actuated brakes. Beyond crew safety, the staircases feature durable lead-edge rubber bumpers to protect aircraft from damage. FAST also uses premium casters with a 10-inch-diameter (0.25-meter) swivel and 10-ply pneumatic tires for easy maneuverability and long-lasting service. These features, as well as premium components, boost the durability of the product and guarantee long life. Spiral Box Stairs are available in fixed or adjustable height options. The fixed model features a height of 185 inches (4.7 meters) and the adjustable height provides a range of 171 to 195 inches (4.3 to 5 meters) for flexibility with a variety of aircraft.
