Triple Crown roller

Feb. 25, 2010

J.R. Potter & Associates Inc. has been named sole distributor for the Barnett #7771 Crown Roller, an elegantly designed unpowered metal-forming system originally created to form accurate skin lap doublers of 2024-T3 .050 in thickness. The roller can also form aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel up to .125 inch thickness and up to 16 inches wide, forming simple curves in a radius as tight as four feet in as little as one pass and is capable of producing compound curves. Designed for shop floor or field operations, The Barnett Crown Roller can be operated by one person, forming metal at the rate of one foot per second with a light pull. Previously, it took four hours or more for a four-man crew to handle a 20-foot skin section and bend it to form on an English Wheel. The Triple-Crown Roller allows the operator to gradually increase tension on the metal being fed through its unique no-mar nylon triple-rollers, drawing metal with only 10 to 12 pounds of feed pressure required to form .050 inch 2024-T3 aluminum. Any length material may be worked. For more information call (440) 835-9723 or visit www.toolsforaircraft.com.
