Helical Lap I.D. & O.D. cylindrical lapping tools are used for precision finishing by airlines, military, OEMs and MRO facilities for applications requiring ultra-precise roundness, concentricity and cylindricity such as servo controls, hydraulic valves, fuel system components and landing gear. Tolerances for diameter and cylindricity held to sub-micron levels are routinely achieved with surface finishes better than 0.025 Ra. Tools can be made as small as .043 up to 6 inches in diameter and up to 14 inches long. Helical Laps are cost effective and can be used on any machine with a rotating spindle such as a lathe or drill.
