For Caesar Strait, his trip into the field of aviation began in 2005 when he became an automotive mechanic. Eventually, though, Strait would trade in wheels for wings.
“I started as an automotive mechanic back in 2005, I left that job in 2012 to be an aviation technician for Turbine Aero, where I still work today. I am an APU build mechanic on the TSCP 700-4E/4B engine line,” explained Strait.
“Since he was a small child, Caesar has been inspired by everything that has to do with an airplane. He started as an automotive mechanic, but his real dream was working with or around jet engines. Caesar has taken it upon himself to learn more than just the mechanic side of things. His passion has translated into Caesar being a great teacher and mentor to our junior mechanics. He has taken numerous mechanics under his wing and personally led them in the right direction. Caesar preaches safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Being the oldest of five siblings, he is a natural born leader and aspires to be in aviation management in the near future,” described Mark Anderson, director of operations, at TurbineAero Repair while nominating Strait. “It is a pleasure to work with Caesar. His peers respect him, his excellent attitude and appreciate his tremendous abilities and contributions to a productive work environment. Caesar is someone I can trust and I am proud to have him working with us at TurbineAero.”
Strait says he has received his mechanical training from on the job training and his currently receiving his pilot training at the ATP Flight School in Mesa, Arizona.
“As a flight instructor I can give people the love of flight,” said Strait.
Helping him get to where he is today, Strait says he has had a number of mentors.
“I have had several mentors that have helped me get to where I am today in my aviation career. Mike McDanial was my mentor when I was in the automotive industry for six years. He helped lay the foundation for the next step in my career, aviation. Barry Winters is the mentor I currently have helping me in my aviation career,” Strait said.
Strait says his ultimate career goal is to fly commercially.
