Aviation was very much apart of Curtis Seagondollar's childhood with a grandfather who flew helicopters, a father who owned and operated an aircraft and a brother who started flying at 15 years of age and became an airline pilot. "I was destined to be active in the aviation community," he explained.
Shortly after graduating college, Seagondollar began his career in aviation as an avionics technician with Flightstar in Jacksonville, FL, working on commercial and cargo aircraft. He then started in corporate aviation as, once again, an avionics technician with West Star Aviation in Dallas, TX. His next move was to Denver, CO to be an avionics lead technician with Haggan Aviation.
In 2014, he began working with Jet Linx in Denver, CO and held positions with the company as maintenance technician, base maintenance manager, and regional maintenance manager. In September 2020, Seagondollar was granted the challenge to move to Omaha, NE, become the director of maintenance and transform the maintenance department into something that can maintain scalability with the company growth. His main priorities, he says, will always be to ensure the operation is provided with first class aviation maintenance support and uphold the elevated safety standards that Jet Linx is known for.
Seagondollar attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with minors in Avionics Line Maintenance and Business Administration, Associates of Aviation Maintenance Science, Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and a FCC License.
"I strive to improve Jet Linx’s company culture to benefit my team, other departments within Jet Linx and the vendors we have working relationships with," he explained. As for the future, "my sights are set on growing with Jet Linx Aviation and enhancing the maintenance department along the way."
Derrick Buggi, Maintenance Control GM at Jet Linx, whom nominated Seagondollar says that within the past year at Jet Linx, we as a Part 135 operator have undergone an entire maintenance restructuring within the company. "In the past six to eight months, Curtis has provided the innovation and direction to restructure from a base concept that included 17 different locations operating independently to bringing us under a single national structure. Numerous policies and procedures were made with revisions of all company manuals along with many personnel reassignments and the creation of new positions. Jet Linx also went from a single Maintenance Control department to branching off into two new departments: RTS and MCC. These newly formed departments were instrumental in providing the base foundation for the future restructuring of maintenance. Curtis has worked with IT and programmers to develop new technology to make advances in efficiency and accuracy in our processes and the way we operate. He has provided the leadership and expertise to lead Jet Linx into the future and advance our company to become a frontrunner for Part 135 operations for the foreseeable future."
