Clayton Kirk manages a fleet of seven, 25-year-old business jets for a company with the highest utilization rate in the world, operating more than 1,000 hours per year per tail. He is directly responsible for maintaining current status and responding aggressively to Aircraft On Ground (AOG) scenarios. Additionally, Kirk develops and maintains a 90-120 day outlook of over 180 scheduled maintenance events per tail.
In short, Kirk ensures the current status and all known maintenance events for the next 120 days on the most active fleet in the world, enabling the operations team to sustain their high utilization rate.
“I pride myself on figuring out how to do things differently than what can be considered status quo in the industry,” Kirk said. “I enjoy working for companies that are disruptors of the industry and challenge myself to lead the effort to drive the industry in new directions. Accomplishing goals that have not been met before is what drives me.”
Kirk is not only a certified avionics repairman, but has expertise in developing and implementing Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) modifications and managing the intricate documentation required to operate with these STCs. Whether it involves changes to Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs) or Configuration Deviation Lists (CDLs), Kirk excels in handling these documents. Our flight crews can quickly get answers not only about what’s in the book but also the reasoning behind it, ensuring flight safety. Kirk succeeds in this Maintenance Control role under tremendous pressure, operating as lean and efficiently as possible in a fiscally constrained environment.
Kirk is currently expanding his personal credentials within the industry by pursuing his Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and, shortly thereafter, his Inspector Authorization (IA). Kirk is poised to become an industry leader in Maintenance Operations within the Business Jet Marketspace over the next five years.
