Two Dead After Small Plane Crashes Into Central Florida Neighborhood

A small plane crashed into the front yard of a house in Bartow, killing two people aboard.

Polk County Fire Rescue reported that multiple agencies responded to reports of a downed aircraft in a neighborhood just north of Bartow Executive Airport at 11:28 a.m.

Crews found a single-engine aircraft with two occupants deceased. No residents in the area of the crash were injured.

Identities were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The crash is being investigated by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
