MARIETTA, Ohio — Two men were killed Tuesday morning when their twin-engine plane crashed into the parking lot of a car dealership and exploded, reports say.

Eric S. Seevers, 45, West Virginia, and Timothy F. Gifford, 49, Orient, Ohio, were killed in the crash at about 7:15 a.m., WLWT Channel 5 reports. Investigators have not said who was the pilot, WTAP reports.

The 1974 Beechcraft King Air E90 had taken off from John Glenn Columbus International Airport at about 6:35 a.m. and was headed to Parkersburg, W. Va., which is just south of where the crash occurred, CNN reports. A surveillance video obtained by WCMH Channel 4 appears to show the plane plummeting toward the ground, then exploding on contact in the lot of a Pioneer Buick GMC dealership.

State Highway Patrol Lt. Nathan Dennis said some cars in the lot and a building were damaged by the crash but no one on the ground was hurt, CNN reports.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The crash will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Marietta is along the Ohio River on the border with West Virginia.
