Bell Textron Selects INGENIO Aerospace Specialized Avionics Products for RCAF CH-146 Griffon Limited Life Extension Project
INGENIO Aerospace (INGENIO) announced that Bell Textron has integrated INGENIO’s Cockpit Tablet Electronic Flight Bag (“Heli-Mount EFB”) into the CH-146 Griffon Limited Life Extension (GLLE) project for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
The GLLE is an $800 million project that will extend the life of the RCAF’s fleet of 85 CH-146 Griffon helicopters through 2031. It will cover the replacement of avionics systems, upgrading of cockpit displays, engine upgrades and integration of sensor systems.
INGENIO’s compact, ruggedized and lightweight Heli-Mount EFB provides a secure and robust mounting system for personal electronic devices (PEDs) while in flight. It is an important element related to Bell Textron’s overhaul of the CH-146.
“We are very pleased to have been selected by Bell Textron,” says James Bell, President and CEO, INGENIO Aerospace. “This is a major upgrade to a large fleet of proven rotorcraft. By facilitating access to tablets in flight, we are contributing directly to operational efficiency and pilot performance. We are proud to be part of Bell Textron’s vision of contributing to the readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces.”
