During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to the People's Republic of China for the meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council, the CEO of Qazaq Air, Blair Treherne Pollock and the CEO of China Express Airlines Co., Ltd. Long-Jiang Wu have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreed the development of strategic cooperation in the area of international regional passenger transportation and the potential participation of China Express Airlines in the privatisation of Qazaq Air.
"Within this Memorandum, two regional airlines will have the opportunity to discuss the exchange of cross-border passenger traffic and the possibility of direct financial investment by China Express Airlines into the development of our company," said Blair Treherne Pollock, CEO of Qazaq Air.
Noting the significance of signing the document, Long-Jiang Wu stressed the importance of the agreements reached to activate regional Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the One Belt One Road initiative. In this context, mutually beneficial cooperation between Qazaq Air and China Express Airlines is a continuation of a good-neighbourly partnership aimed at strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
